If you are trying the game, you should know the following quirks beforehand: - Move controls appear tilted because they are based on cardinal directions rather than on the camera angle (it’s easy to get used to, just different than usual) and you cannot move diagonally (that's both a blessing and a curse). - The main character is weaker than your typical overpowered video game wizard; he has no way to fight by himself and can only use magic potions for spells (in limited quantity but they have unlimited duration for a single room: blue is invincibility (except to floor spikes), purple destroys all objects and monsters, yellow freezes time and objects and green reveals invisible tiles). You start with 2 doses of each and there are plenty of refills to find (each gives +2 doses, no maximum). - You will need the magic boots to jump two tiles high. - Watching the title screen demo will give you some serious clues about what you can do in the game. - You can hold the jump button to jump repeatedly (nice!) and you can pull off some crazy jumps by picking up or placing blocks at the same time as you jump (also works mid-air). - There are no saves/passwords, but the game is pretty short (to give an idea, without using any glitches, the speedrun records are 5m35s for any% and 12m13s for 100% completion). So if you ever get a game over, you can return to where you were very quickly (if you can remember the way!). And that's if you didn't pick up any "credits" (those are temporary saves plus they restore your lives and give you 2 doses of each potion).
